The WordSort for Macintosh download is a BinHex (hqx) encoded installer created with StuffIt InstallerMaker. If you have file decompression software on your Mac (such as StuffIt Expander) it will grab the BinHex file as it is downloaded and decode it for you. The file that will result is called "wordsort285_CARBON". Locate this file, (it will probably appear on your computer's desktop) and click it to start the WordSort installation. Follow the installer's instructions. The installer will place WordSort in the location that you tell it to. Before trying to run the new WordSort software you should remove any old copies of WordSort.
After the installation is complete you will find a folder there called "WordSort". Open this folder. The documentation for how to use WordSort is in this folder. There is documentation in two different formats, MS Word and RTF. The files are called "WordSort.doc" and WordSort.rtf. You should read  the documentation before using the program. However if you want to get a quick look at what Wordsort does try clicking on the files "SampleStudent???.std".
